Lens Based Media

Day 1

On our first day for Lens Based Media, we where asked to bring beforehand photographs of our environment.

From these photographs we were asked to choose one and draw it on an A1.
The photograph I chose is a picture of a building that is situated in Regent’s canal, on the way to Broadway Market.

When drawing the photograph, I noticed how I did not even have to look at the photograph to remember the place. Its unique character was placed in my mind, and I could remember every detail of it.

After finishing the drawing, we had to take pictures of the piece, in a way that it would distortion the image, and change the meaning, so that the person that was watching the photograph could not realize it was a building.

During the afternoon, we were given the following words:
  1. Crush
  2. Fall
  3. Eco
  4. Sad
  5. Happy
From these words we had to take photographs that would enhance their meaning. In my opinion the difficulties of this task was not take the photographs themselves, but try and transmit the word though an obvious way.

 Echo
 Crush
 Happy
 Fall
Sad
